The Hunger Games Movie... awesome or boresome?

I think it's safe to say that, hmm, pretty much everyone who has read the books, really loved the movie. I did, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would and think it did a good job of transforming an amazing book into a fairly good movie (although what's with the shaking camera? I got so dizzy, and I am sorry to say but Jennifer Lawence is so not Katniss) but nevertheless I still want to see it again (the art was amazing! straight out of my head)

my face all through the movie

So anyway, I really thought the movie started off amazing, I was really into it as soon as they showed Distric 12 and it looked exactly like I thought it would, but then I overheard this guy a few rows down:
"Hey, how come all those people are dressed in rags and Katniss has a really nice leather jacket?"

true that! O:

So yeah they missed that, and it definitely made Katniss' part less believable, but WHO CARES?! GIMME MORE!...

*movie continues*

ABSULUTELY LOVED all Gale/Katniss parts

I'm really excited and I'm really paying attention and suddenly...

*MASSIVE YAWN*

What?! who did that?!... so I look around and EVERYONE was like either yawning or chatting with their friends, or mocking Peeta's chin D:

That made me sad, I wish everyone had liked it as much as I did; was it because maybe the movie version wasn't very clear?

take my mother for exemple, she agreed to go with me because I've been telling her about the book ever since I read it in 2008 and it's grown on her, and I saw that she was trying to get into the movie but sometimes she would look so bored ):

at the end she told me she loved it but some parts were confusing, like why was Katniss so fond of Rue if she've only known her for a day? and where did the tributes got the mines? and how come Rue survived for so long after she was wounded so bad, and what does the three-fingered signal mean?; minor (or major) details that people who have not read the books might have not find clear.

But at the end, I hope most people were satisfied (my mom was, she says she can't wait for Catching Fire) and I didn't hear any more complains between the people there ;)

so what did you think? have you read the books? was the movie confusing to you?

Completely Contemp Challenge :)

Now people, if you've read some of my reviews or been to my blog a couple of times, you've probably noticed I am a BIG.FAN.OF.CONTEMPORARY.YA.

BIG fan.

So, you understand that when I saw this challenge I immediately jumped on the wagon.

And my goals are, to read:

3 contemporary books published in 2010
5 contemporary books published in 2011
10 contemporary books published in 2012

I think (and hope) I can do more of that, but you never know what will happen so I went realistic :)

Wish me the best ;D

Challenge accepted.

Weekend Update (not with Seth Mayers)

Okay so the weekend is finally here! it's the best time of the week because I can finally catch up with my studying.
But I was about to pass out from boredom (who knew there were soooo many antibiotics??) so I figure I could do a weekend update...
(This post has a lot of hyperlinks, btw)

Look at him! so happy and careless! someone should show him! *throws punches at the air*

1. Have you guys read the Fine Art of Truth and Dare excerpt? The first two chapters are up at Melissa Jensen's website.
It's awesome and cute and well see for yourself :)

2. Are you excited for A Million Suns? Book #2 in the Across the Universe series by the amazing Beth Revis. If you are, then you should go right now and like its facebook page, because when they reach 5000 fans they will publish the first chapter of aMS! (only 62 more to go).

3. Have you checked the latest news about Justin Bieber?? *sarcasm* well now you have an excuse to go check out Just Jared Jr. page and enter their giveaway, a Beautiful Creatures gift set that includes a tee! <3

4. Random: I lost a piece of hair because of my own stupidity. Yes, I did it myself. I was chewing gum and tried to spit it out aiming at the trash can. But my head was bent and my hair was shielding my face and the gum catapulted at a 45 degree angle and landed on my hair. I had to cut it out ):

Hope your weekend is going well excellent! ;)

Book fairs make me happy

Ahhhh. Book fairs, don't we all love them?

And I love seeing Young Adult books plastered all over the walls

Those were throughout the fair, the actual Young Adult stand was packed, I forgot to take pictures because I was too busy deciding what to buy

I ended up just buying three oldies but goldies (four, if you count a copy of mockingjay for my little brother), but I'm coming back next week for the closure and Tonya Hurley's signing and I plan to buy a lot more ;)

isn't that an awesome bag? it has Einstein on it! and it says Book Smart. I'm so carrying it everywhere!

The week I stopped reading...

For pleasure, that is.
But don't panic, I didn't stop stop,
I'm just taking a break while I slave myself to study pharmacology.

It's my first exam and I really really want to do well, so I'm spending all my waking time reading and memorizing names and therapeutic uses and doses and toxicity and pharmacodinamics and pharmacocinetics and zzzzzzzzzz...

*wakes up*
Urgh fell asleep on the keyboard again, please excuse me while I go refill my coffee mug

Ahhh Thank you.
I'm back, what was I saying? oh yes,
well as soon as I'm done with this I have some books that I will (hopefully) read and review before August is over.

Clean by Amy Reed. I'm soooo excited for this, it's such an original concept, and one of my favorite authors is a fan of this one.

And because I'm working so hard at school ;) , my mom bought me this mini? series.
It's about a mermaid! *happy dance* They really sound like my kinds of books: light, sweet and fun.

Well, then.
Enjoy your week! Hope to read you soon!
:)
